Corporate Sponsors

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland depends upon the support of businesses, corporations, churches/faith groups, civic groups, and individuals to carry out our mission. Each sponsor provides funds for the materials and resources needed to build a new Habitat home or rehab an existing home. Sponsors are given first choice of build volunteer days to ensure they have the opportunity to build and/or rehab the home alongside the partner families.

Home Preservation Sponsorship

Provide the funding to rehab or preserve an existing home for a low-income family in our community. This is perfect for organizations who want to transform lives and community by helping low-income homeowners who cannot afford to make necessary repairs to their homes. It enables eligible individuals and families to continue to live in their homes safely and comfortably for years to come. Projects include painting, roof repair, landscaping, general clean up, weatherization, replacing damaged or broken windows, wheelchair ramp installation, and minor home repair services.

Preserving-A-Home has a few different categories: A Brush With Kindness, Ramps & Rails, Critical Home Repair, and Weatherization.

  • A Brush With Kindness – exterior painting and/or minor repair projects.
  • Critical Home Repair – repairs that alleviate health, life, code and/or safety issues.
  • Weatherization – projects to improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality.

Preserve-A-Home per projects start at $500.

Faith Relations

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland was founded by individuals and churches to serve God’s families suffering from poor housing and living in deprived communities. Church congregations provide the funding, volunteer labor, and prayers needed to construct a home for a family in need.

One of the most appealing aspects of working with Habitat for Humanity is that building a house provides an opportunity to live out your faith and see the tangible fruit of that labor.

Strong feelings of community develop as people work together to plan and build a Habitat house. New friendships are created within the congregation and within the community. When the house is finished, volunteers and homeowners feel a great sense of pride and a connection with one another.

Many congregations experience great spiritual renewal when they build a house. Lives are changed. Often new families join the church and the congregation as a whole sees new purpose. Making the commitment to help sponsor a Habitat for Humanity house means praying about the project, raising the money and recruiting the volunteers for construction. It is a big step of faith. However, those who take that step realize incredible blessings when the church obeys the call of Christ to help our neighbors in need.

Apostles Build

The Habitat Greater Garland’s Apostles Build is an initiative to partner with twelve churches to build a Habitat home for a family in need. The vision is twelve churches serving and reaching out to their community mirroring the ministry of the twelve apostles of Christ.

Women’s Build

Women are a powerful social and economic force with the means to both fund and construct homes where children can grow. Women-built projects provide an opportunity for women to learn new skills, participate in team-building activities, and make a lasting difference for children and families in the fight against poverty housing. National Women Build Week is held annually during the week leading up to Mother’s Day.
